 Ever since the first electronic equipment required wires to be bundled together to help organize and protect them, cable ties have become more and more invaluable. Wiring applications include preventing or reducing damage to the wires, keeping wires away from moving parts, help tracing and servicing the wiring systems, and organizing an efficient wiring layout. Before that, manufacturers used tape or twine - both of which had inherent problems including unraveling and looseness. The impact that such a simple device has made in such a broad area of applications is truly amazing in retrospect. Cable ties have gone through many innovations over the years and you may be surprised at how many types of cable ties are out there.
