EDE700 Serial LCD Interface IC
 |

The EDE700 Serial LCD Interface IC is designed to conveniently control text-based LCD modules via a simple two or three wire link. This IC allows both engineer and hobbyist alike the ability to easily incorporate an LCD module into their design using a minimal amount of I/O lines. The EDE700 allows full LCD control, including the creation of custom characters. Also, the EDE700 is capable of scrolling text from the bottom row of a 2-row LCD to the top, in addition to the usual left-to-right scrolling feature built into most LCD modules. 2400/9600 Baud rate and selectable serial data polarity allow the EDE700 to communicate easily with most any serial device. Connection to almost any microcontroller, stamp, or microprocessor can be made using a single wire, without any type of voltage level conversion. Connection to a PC can be made using only a 33K Ohm resistor.
